Wallhacking/player banned/ping maskingMay 27th, 2009
Player ©opywright STEAM_0:1:22355409 has been banned form BGL play for wallhacking. Demos provided by the Dynasty clan have shown enough proof.

Ping masking is not allowed in BGL play. Do not alter your network settings to attempt to mask your ping or perform any other type of exploit.

NA Timelimit and MAPsMay 8th, 2009
Today is Friday and on Monday May 4th the NA division held a meeting decide on maps to be selected for the next month and it was a great turn out. I want to thank all who were present for the meeting and Im sorry for this late post but we will get by. First let me say we decided on a new BGL NA Timelimit for NA matches. the New timelimit begins Sunday. Please set servers for 23 minutes, and at 21:10 Exe na-bg.cfg. All matches will now be 21 minutes long, shortning the old by 9 minutes. Also every month when we meet title match calns decide on first week map, Title shot match clans will decide on second week and all will vote on the next two weeks.

SimBullets/Server files and CFGApril 13th, 2009
Starting this Sunday April 19th, A new BGL cfg must be on all servers for both NA and EU Leagues. Simulated Bullets will be turn on along with Damages and Enemy Names. Please download bgl cfg and Server files for both Linux and Windows and install Before match play. The files are loacted in the Files section of this page.

.This is remade by the dev team Harry Potter so it works great. You can also still use the new server.dll both ways on or off Sim bullets. To install Server.dll it goes in the bg2/bin folder on your server. Remember server MUST be Stopped before upload. The American and Europeon division will begin this Sunday using the new CFG and Sim Bullets on.

Freemans_farm BugsMarch 31st, 2009
The Na division will no longer play the great map bg_freemans_farm due to some bugs we found scrimming on it. The main one is a texture problem that some are having when then join the map as there are purple textures and they have to delete and redownload to fix. The second is a possble door block that may look like it isnt to most, but to some I see them yelling, door block. The NA league has been running smooth and I intend to keep it that way. I like to say to the leaders that were at the map selection meeting, sorry about this one, but I felt its in the best interest of the league to remove it.

EU Server DLL/cfg changesMarch 18th, 2009
The EU division will now start using the new server dll mentioned in the previous newspost. The EU cfg has also been updated and you can find both of the files in the Files section.

BGL CFG 2.2.3 and Server.dllMarch 17th, 2009
The American division will now play with simulatedbullets OFF due to the fact that it saves CPU, possible timeout issues, a Exploit with Commanders loading and shooting headshots and running jump stabs. We have tested the new dll and it runs and works great with sim bullets off. There is also a new bgl-na.cfg file in the Files section for download. You can grab the new server.dll file from: http://www.battlegroundsleague.com/files/Server.zip

Start times and CFGMarch 8th, 2009
The time of the match begins at 9 eastern time, at 9:15 if the match isn't underway There will be a forfeit according to the bgl rules.If the bgl cfg file is causing crashes and kicks then both teams need to agree not to use it. This is happening everyweek as soon as cfg is loaded on some servers.. We need to keep bgl fun and less stressful or it will be in trouble of falling apart. Do to the Orangebox updates I believe the mod isnt running upto speed so maybe some trouble shooting is in order.I need all leaders and contacts help on this. Server/Steam UpdateFebruary 18th, 2009

Updates to the Orange Box Engine have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Orange Box Engine/BG2

  • Updated the engine to report SteamIDs using the Steam_0 format instead of Steam_1
  • Fixed problems in Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal, and Source mods running the current Orange Box engine
  • Reverted the change that capped rate at 30000
As you can see your steam ID will return to Steam_0 Not Steam_1 after you update your server. SO plz dont enter in Steam Ids on rosters until you have updated client and server. you will also have to Change IDS in server admin file also. Starting Sunday all Server ADMINS need to reboot servers before there matches start  IN the NA division. Orangebox is alittle cranky so plz do this one hour or so before hand. New BGL Server CFGsNovember 19th, 2008
New BGL server CFG's have been added to the Files page. Please update your servers with the appropriate CFG file before matches on Sunday. The current version is 0.2. I made sure the NA and EU server CFG's are identical except for the timelimit (30 minutes for NA, 20 minutes for EU).

In addition, some servers may not have had an updated CFG with the movement speed variables in them. This is a reminder that you must be using the most recent bgl.cfg file on your server.
